What is a *brain stroke?*
A stroke, or brain attack, happens when blood flow to your brain is stopped. It is an emergency situation.
A blood vessel in the brain ruptures and bleeds, or when there’s a blockage in the blood supply to the brain. The rupture or blockage prevents blood and oxygen from reaching the brain’s tissues.
Worldwide, brain stroke is the second leading cause of death.
Although they are more commonly seen in the elderly age group, stroke can occur to anyone at any age.
